2023: In five games with the Roughriders, Harris threw for 1,274 yards and six touchdowns, with four interceptions. In the June 16 home opener against Winnipeg, he completed 29 of 41 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns. Saskatchewan won three of the five games started by Harris, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the fourth quarter of a July 15 home game against the Calgary Stampeders.
PRO: Entering the 2024 season, Harris is the CFL’s All-Time leader in completion percentage (70.6). He is 17th in completions (2,489), 19th in passing yards (29,884) and attempts (3,527), and 21st in touchdown passes (160). His first four CFL seasons (2012 to 2015) were spent with the Toronto Argonauts, with whom he posted a league-high 33 TD passes in 2015. As a first-year member of the Ottawa REDBLACKS in 2016, he was named an East Division All-Star. He followed up with 30 TD passes in 2017. With Ottawa in the 2018 East final against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Harris set CFL single-game playoff records for touchdown passes (six) and completion percentage (90.6, courtesy of a 29-for-32 performance). He then started for Ottawa in the 2018 Grey Cup Game against Calgary. Harris was with the Edmonton Elks for the entire 2019 season and most of 2021 before being traded to the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 17, 2021. In 2022, he threw 20 TD passes in his first full season with Montreal. A Grey Cup champion with Toronto (2012) and Ottawa (2016), Harris signed with Saskatchewan as a free agent on Feb. 14, 2023.
COLLEGE: Harris played four seasons (2006 to 2009) at Edinboro University — also the alma mater of Roughriders Vice-President of Football Operations and General Manager Jeremy O’Day. Harris was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s First-Team All-Star quarterback in his final three seasons and was named the PSAC’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009. With 11,899 passing yards, he is second All-Time in the PSAC and in the top 10 All-Time in the NCAA’s Division II ranks. His 100 TD passes are second All-Time in the PSAC, which he leads in career completions (966).
FAST FACT: In his final game with the Edinboro (Pa.) Fighting Scots, Harris threw for 630 yards and five touchdowns and ran for two other scores in an NCAA Division II playoff classic on Nov. 21, 2009. The West Liberty Hilltoppers won the shootout, 84-63.
